Funny-man Brand has stuck to his controversial style by naming the tour “Messiah Complex” which will be a dissection and comparison of various social and religious figures and the reality of their lives.

Audience members at the Portsmouth Guildhall in October will see how Brand unveils the Messiah Complex as a mental disorder where anyone may think they might be the Messiah.

The comic – who is also an actor and author – will engage people with his ranting style talking about Jesus, Che Guevara, Gandhi, Malcolm X and Hitler to look at the importance of heroes in what he calls “this age of atheistic disposability”.

“I am going to tour the world with Messiah Complex, causing bother and excitement and offering opinions that have not been either solicited or thought through,” said Brand.

The world tour is the latest of his achievements which include numerous nationwide tours, leading roles in films Rock of Ages, Arthur, Bedtime Stories and The Tempest, as well as author of two autobiographies My Booky Wook and Booky Wook 2.

As part of the world tour, which starts in August and finishes in December, Brand will visit the Portsmouth venue on October 16 at 7:30pm. Tickets cost £27.50.
