Performers at the Titchfield Festival Theatre Company have outdone themselves this week with their adaption of the Christmas favourite, Miracle on 34th Street.

The heart-warming magical tale of Christmas followed the original 1947 film about a New York department store Father Christmas stand-in who claims to be the real thing, and is taken to court to prove his existence.

Ron Long who played Kris Kringle carried a strong, and memorable role as Father Christmas. His jolly character, and personality truly made the play.

Also, the mixture of video from the original film, singing and acting brought a twist to the play as it entered the 21st Century.

The youngster who carried out the role of Susan Walker has a very promising future as an actress. As it was said in the show, “she’s a daughter to be proud of!”

The casts’ version of the Christmas classics such as, ‘I saw mummy kissing santa Claus’ and ‘Santa Claus is coming to town’ worked amazingly well with the audience as they encouraged interaction.

The children of the show also gave out presents and badges to the audience which proved very popular as it encouraged them to get involved with the play.

The set decoration was well designed, as well as the costumes, helping bring life and realism to the play.

This was definitely a show to see and be proud of. The cast and director have outdone themselves!
