Rumbles of laughter echoed through the room as comedian Jason Manford worked the audience.

Initially he came out looking pretty run down, which made me wonder what the evening at the Portsmouth Guildhall held.

But the comic, who has been off the touring scene for a number of years, explained that he wasn’t used to the late nights on the road.

Plus with  three kids under four years old, who wouldn’t be tired?

As the night went on, despite his tiredness, the former 8 out of 10 Cats star reminded us all of his knack for live comedy on stage.

With all new observational gags and interaction with the audience he rekindled his energy and pulled out all the stops to ensure we had a great time at the show of his First World Problems tour.

During the interval he left blank pieces of paper for the comedy fans to write their own first world problems down. He then revealed all after the break and we saw his wit put to the test –  which succeeded in having the audience in hysterics.

As a football fan Jason couldn’t resist revving up the audience mentioning the Pompey Saints divide.

A great night of comedy and definitely worth the watch to see Jason Manford’s new routine.

He will be returning to Portsmouth in the New Year as his tour nears its end. So check him out.
