Two one-act plays will be performed in the evenings at Titchfield Festival Theatre.
Stephen Dinsdale’s Anorak of Fire tells the tale of Gus Gascoigne, a, spotty and perpetually cheerful young man who is completely bemused by anthing that isn’t involved with his sole interest – trainspotting.
The touching, ironic and consistently hilarious play enjoyed a long run at London’s Arts Theatre after the Edinburgh Fringe.
Learn about the joys of spotting at night, discover why relationships and spotting are incompatible, and feast your eyes on Gus’s treasured anorak, in a story of life, love and locomotives.
But that’s not all of the evening’s entertainment as Alan Bennett’s Bed Among The Lentils is also on the bill.
This play tells the story of Susan who is a failure when it comes to jam-making and flower-arranging and is not at all sure about God.
It is unfortunate for her that she is married to Geoffrey, a popular and respected vicar who treats her in an intensely patronizing manner and expects her to conform to her role as vicar’s wife.
A bleakly hilarious, dark and painful monologue, packed with insights and sparkling satire.
The performances at the St Margaret’s Lane theatre run from Wednesday May 8 to Saturday May 18. Performances start at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost between £9 and £11. Contact the Box Office on 01329 556 156.
